Congratulations, you’re moving! This can be an exciting time in your life but also a stressful. We’re sure you have lists and lists of things you need to get taken care of, items you need to buy, and people you need to call but to make the process a little easier for you, we’ve created a checklist to help your move go as swiftly as possible.
Carefully Packing Up
One of the very first steps in your moving checklist is to pack up. You’ll want to box clothes, books, pictures, and kitchen items. For furniture, be sure that you have a moving van, trailer, or a pickup truck and several people to help you load and unload. When it comes to your antique furniture pieces, take extra caution when moving. These are probably a little more fragile and more valuable than other pieces so it’s important to be careful when moving these. Wrap them in bubble wrap, transport them separately, or watch closely as you travel to make sure these precious items make it to their destination in perfect condition.
Things To Buy
There may be a few essentials that you’re missing but it’s likely that you’ve forgotten to pick up some things. Be sure to buy trash bags, a toolkit (with a tape measure and scissors), soap, a shower curtain, and paper towels. It’s also important to have things like curtains, rugs, and felt pads for the bottom of furniture legs before moving in other furniture pieces.
If your furniture collection is missing a few pieces, like a dining room table, a coffee table, bookshelves, or more, we would love to fill your new house with our creations. Visit us today to see what we have to offer for your home.
